Release 2 (final release)
Here's the final release of my X.25 gateway list. As of Feb 1996 I have
left the scene and I no longer haqx0r. However, I'm releasing this and
possibly some other philes. I've learned what I could from haqx0ring and
now it's time for me to move on. I hope you can use this file to further
your own education.
This is a list of gateways that get you from the Internet to X.25
networks. You just telnet to the gateway, enter a few commands, and you
can initiate X.25 calls. If you don't know what X.25 is, there are a few
(somewhat old) good philes on it. Note that all of these gateways will
only allow you to place reverse-charged calls unless you have an NUI.
In the below formats, ######## is the NUA (address) of the X.25 host you
wish to connect to. On many (eg PACX) gateways you can also do
########dDATA to connect to a certain port of a system. For example, from
a *1 format gateway you could enter r,p-13106dinformation to get to the
Tymnet information system. Note that some of the below formats may need a
few return's to get to a prompt before they will work.
The NUA's of the gateways themselves are also given where I know them, but
most of them don't accept incoming reverse charged connections. You can
also get the NUA of a gateway by placing an outgoing reverse charged
connection from them to the LOGGER port of a Gandalf XMUX, it will
display your NUA when you connect to it. For a few XMUX's to use for
this, try a scan such as the Datapac one found in CoTNo a few issues ago.
Also, most dialouts can be used as X.25 gateways, if you get a list of
sprintnet/whatever dialins. There are lists of dialins on the information
services (information on tymnet, login:phones/passwd:phones on
sprintnet), but i usually just keep a copy of the local access number
list from the AOL tech support BBS. (!)
One last word - *PLEASE* don't abuse these. If you abuse one, it is not
only a hassle for the admin who runs it, but also for all the other
people who might be able to learn a lot from using it.

To access Austpac from AARNET:
telnet to austpac.aarnet.edu.au
login as austpac
Enter the NUA
I think some NUA's require a -r flag before the NUA to reverse charges but not
the ones listed above! Either that or it now automatically accepts reverse
charge calls when a NUI isn't entered - The same way the standard PAD works!
